ABOUT THE INSTALLATION
An Immersive audio visual transformation of Mitchell Hall in tribute to the history and stories of Aberdeen.
After the wildly successful Face of Innovation from our 2016 festival, Double Take Projections return to explore further chapters in the story of Aberdeen through ‘Obar Dheathain’ (the Gaelic pronunciation of Aberdeen). Through large scale projection mapping technology they have produced an all immersive experience using visuals and audio to illuminate Marischal College Quad. Inspired by the Scottish Year of History, Heritage & Archaeology the Granite City will be brought to life in a show of stunning visuals and music.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Double Take Projection are a Scottish based design agency who create immersive visual experiences through projection mapping technology. They created the landscape poetry project “On the Massacre of Glencoe”, illuminated the Forth Bridge, created backdrop visuals for T in the Park, Groove Festival Visuals, Skyelive Festival and partnered on Spectra 2015 creating experimental new music and sculptural projection works with sculptor Hanni Bjartalid and Composer Halldor Smarasson. Double Take returned to SPECTRA in 2016 with Face of Innovation; a striking new projection commissioned for the festival, celebrating Aberdeen’s achievements in innovation, architecture and design.
