ABOUT THE INSTALLATION
Bold beams of light creates an engaging architectural focus on the Robert Gordon’s College gateway, bathed in the historic School’s colours.
The Gateway installation by Sandy McRobbie will illuminate Robert Gordons College in washes of light and be the beacon between the Union Terrace Gardens and Kirk sites. Set back on its own slip-road the Georgian building will be bathed in blues, reds and gold attracting visitors from both sites and lead as a gateway to each. The Aberdonian lighting designer will use his 40 years of experience to ensure that The Gateway is not only a marker but an intrinsic stand-alone installation.
The Gateway is a SPECTRA Commission, supporting local artists to showcase work as part of the 2017 festival.
