The Collective Collaborations Project unites three UK based artist run collectives (Aberdeen, Bury & Blackpool) to work together on site specific light and sound installations in all three locations. Spectra sees the culmination of the project with the final version of Nomad being projected onto the window of Seventeen which will connect the two main sites of Union Terrace Gardens and St Nicholas Kirkyard.
Nomad is the work of nine artists and arts professionals who have been brought together by the project manager and festival producers, Curated Place with the support of Arts Council England, LeftCoast, Blackpool and the Fylde College, Bury Art Museum & Sculpture Centre, Abingdon Studios and Spectra Festival. The work is a light and sound installation that encompasses the ideas of the nomadic qualities of the project and shows both visually and through audio the artists responses to this.
The project will be presented at the Catalyst Conference to an international audience and plans are in place for it to be extended from a UK based collaboration project to a two-year international collaboration project beginning in Summer 2018.
