The Faery Trails – Lucas Chih-Peng Kao

The Faery Trails is a site specific video installations for family and all ages at night, miniature video projections of magical creatures from Arthur Rackham’s fantasy world will be hidden on the walking path of the Kirk of St.Nicholas just waiting to be discovered! Inspired by faery artwork of Arthur Rackham, early films Serpentine Dance by Lumière Brothers and the lack of presence of non-white bodies in history of art, Lucas will create a magical site-specific experience bringing the faeries into life!

Lucas Chih-Peng Kao is an interdisciplinary artist and award winning short filmmaker born in Taiwan who lives and works in Scotland. His work combines performance, dance, film and installation together to create visually stunning experiences. He has collaborated with many artist to create dance films, and is currently developing a performance “Catching Up with Oneself” with choreographer Kai-Wen Chuang to explore Identity and their experience in Scotland using projection, dance, spoken word and physical theatre. As a filmmaker, Lucas has directed many award winning short films that have been screened at film festivals around the world.
